We can do this!!!!!!..... Right?!?!?!

Matt and I are about 3 days from closing on a property of about 2 acres, that we got for pretty cheap and we are going to renevate this property to make it not only livable, but also our own home. We've had a long process of waiting for this closing to happen, seeing as we've had our eye on this property for over a month now, and the closing date kept on getting placed farther and farther away. The end is in sight now... or rather- the beginning of our new project is in sight now. And yes, it is quite a project!

To sum things up: this piece of land has 2 acres and has a huge barn, a back house (a small house that maybe was rented out or lived in before- in the backyard), a tower, and our new house. Our new house is a bit on the side of "strongly needs TLC" as you could say. It's at the front of the property and you can see it from the street. Our property also has three driveways and the circle driveway goes behind our house, where people will park.

We definately bought the lowest end house in the neighborhood, but I'm sure the neighbors will enjoy the fact that we will be renevating the property and bringing it up. The neighborhood is pretty well off, and it is right behind Belmont Country Club. Our street is at a dead end, so not much traffic will arrive around our place as well. Our neighbors also have huge plots of land with custom built houses. Our house rather... is not going to be custom built- but built with our own hands and our own labor, and Lord willing, it will turn out great.

The construction on our house will take place first. We will blog about all the different projects we go through this summer to make the house livable and designed the way we like it. It will be quite a chore- and we definately couldn't do this project without the family that surrounds both Matt and I. Both of our extended families have offered to help us build our home in various ways, and we can not thank everyone enough for their help and guidance through this process. We could not tackle this property all by our own selves and our own resources, and we both are very grateful that we have the support from all the family that surrounds us. This is definately a young man's dream, and we'd like to thank everyone for supporting us as we begin to build our first home together.

We can do this!!!!!! (At least that's what we are hoping!) :) We've got a lot of work ahead, but it will be worth it in a couple months when we've finished the house. Right now... while we are 99.9 percent sure the closing will go through on Tuesday, we will be looking for work boots for me. I am looking for some heavy duty work boots for my size 5 feet. We will be purusing town trying to find these this weekend, while also finishing the last packing of boxes for the move. Imagine that- me in work boots! It's a way different style from those high heals! :) hehe
